Minutes for the Jan. 19,2010 N.O.D.B.C.
The meeting was held in the basement room of the Halina centre wiith Carol Ann 
Halliday presiding and Kathy Orr, Linda Trimble, Pat Robertson, John Coone, Barb 
Heibert and Carol Ferguson in attendance.  Ollie Buron and Peter Roberts were our 
invited guests who arrived at 11:45.
Kathy read the minutes of the last executive meeting.  There were no changes and they 
were accepted as read.
The treasurer’s report was deferred til Linda has had a chance to go over the reports from 
Hazel.We will be dealing withthe Valley First Credit Union rather than the Royal Bank 
and Linda, Carol Ann and Barb will be the signing authorities.  Linda intends to have a 
petty cash account of $100.00 and she intends to keep the banking info on  Quick Books 
Program for easy access and efficiency.  
All agreed that the cost of having a cell phone was not justified and that a cell phone was 
not a necessary acquisition.  The phone will be reutrned to David Arnot, the donor, with 
thanks.
Linda Trimble aagreed to use her home address and her e-mail address as the mailing 
address for the club.
It was decided that 2 free-plays for each year a person served on the executive be given to 
outgoing board members  as our way of saying  “thanks”.  Barb Hiebert will also be 
buying a thank-you card for these members for all to sign.
Carol Ferguson agreed to look after supplies.  Linda and Carol Ann will take care of 
sanctions.  Barb Hiebert will see to the hospitality and Pat Robertson, the partnership.  
The duties for these positions were discussed and decided.
Ollie Burno and Carol Ann Halliday are teaching intermediate bridge beginning Friday, 
Jan. 22nd in the bridge club room at the Halina Centre at  3:15 p.m.  Carol Ann suggested 
that bridgeteachers receive a minimum of $40.00 for each lesson.  We all agreed with 
this.
Halena Centre membership fees are paid by the club for the board members and for a few 
members at large.  These people are still to be determined.\
Carol Ann intends to draw up a constitution and by-laws for the club in March.
Ollie and Peter,our web-site gurus, have added Pat Robertson’s e-mail as a contact for 
partnership for the V.O.D.B.C. and John Coone’s e-mail for the partnership for the 
V.B.C.  They also reported that the minutes have been added to the web-site and that no 
treasurer’s report will be added.  Salmon Arm will be included and there will be a spot 
listing all the bridge lessons.  Ollie has agreed to be the educational co-ordinator for the 
board.
